PokeySouthSuperZone 2-17-10

What a week it has been! I am no longer in a trio, just Sister Braegger and I now. She is a goof like me so we really enjoy each other. Our personalities go together very well and I see the two of us being life long friends.
On Saturday Elder Bednar came and spoke to my mission! That is the 6th apostle I've met. It is hard to describe exactly how the meeting went, but it was AMAZING! He encourages us to NOT take notes. That way the spirit could teach us. So once home from the meeting I wrote everything that I personally learned.
Later in the evening was the YSA Institute devotional with Elder Bednar as the speaker. It was more of a Q and A though. 6 of our less actives came and 1 of our investigators came. Lamine! He wasn't able to come to church on Sunday, but we will meet with him again on Wednesday.
Mom, the donuts that you sent came! You are the best ever for sending me donuts!! That was a wonderful part of my week.
Our zone is getting tshirts and we are each our own superhero and I am Supergirl! I wanted to be Wolverine but that was frowned upon.
Sorry my emails are less and less detailed or shorter than usual. It is hard to focus and think of what to write.
To summarize this week my companion and I got crunk and invited others to come unto Christ.
Oh and here is an unbelievable story...we had zone training on Thursday and everything was professional until the zone leaders revealed our amazing January actuals and future goals then yelled "doesn't this just make you want to rip your shirt off!" then they ripped open their button up shirts revealing superman shirts underneath. They continued to scream and yell and one even flipped a table and kicked over some chairs. It was awkward. We laughed but were also just in confused shock. The End.

Love you all!

Happy Valentines Day! 2-10-14

Happy Valentines Day Family!

All of Thursday my companions and I were on pins and needles waiting to hear what the transfer results were. Finally we received a call and got the news that Sister Hoof will be going to the Iona area of Idaho Falls and Sister Braegger and I will be staying in Pocatello South area together. I am happy to be staying in this area. I will probably remail in PokySouth until I go back to Temple Square. A week ago we had 4 baptismal dates, but half dropped us. Lemine from Algeria. He is a miracle! We got home at 9:00. We are allowed to extend to 9:30 if we are in a lesson. Pono a YSA in our area called us and told us to come to the institute building because a man wanted to be taught. We came and conquered! Of course it was the spirit that actually conquered. We committed him to be baptized on March 2nd but it will probably be changed to March 1st. Lemine came to church Sunday! AHH IT WAS AWESOME! His first language is french so he is reading the Book of Mormon in french. Nimfa from Ghana is 18 and we are teaching her as while. She had a baptismal date, but she hasn't been coming to church so we have to go and work things out. I never realized how much work there was to be done in Idaho! This past week was extra great because it snowed! But then 3 days later it rained and now it is all gone. But we really needed the moisture for the potatoes to come.

By the way... GO USA in the Olympics!

To be honest I really don't know what else to say. But you MUST watch this video about the Prodigal Son http://www.mormonchannel.org/video/mormon-messages?v=3146975328001&cid=HPWE020514436&im=true

It is a good one! So this week our zone leaders called us pretending to be someone who wanted to be taught! SO MEAN! So we are making a flier that says "Chewbacca Roar contest. PRIZE. call (Zone Leaders #) and leave a voicemail of your roar and contact info to win" then we will have some of our YSA call and probably leave it up in the institute for pay back.

Well that seems to be all. Have a Happy Valentines Day everyone!

Love,
Sister Becca Price

The Gospel of Jesus Christ and Donuts 2-2-14

This week we went into a members home and taught her roommate Nimfa from Ghana. The room was filled with the spirit and Nimfa felt it too. We invited her to be baptized on February 28th and she accepted. Her sister is the only thing that would keep her baptism from happening. Her sister lives in Idaho Falls and we are going to try to send the missionaries there to teach her.

Yesterday was possible the best Sunday on my mission! We cover 3 YSA wards so we attended three sacrament meetings and testimony meetings. My companions and I were the first ones to go up in each ward. We go up to try and set the tone for the testimony meeting and remind people it isn't a story sharing time meeting. Even still I was able to bridge donuts to the gospel in one of the testimonies I shared...you all know how much I love donuts. Okay so you are probably wondering how I did this so I will briefly explain:

Once when I was little I really wanted to go to Fragapanes Bakery on Sunday for a donut, but mom wouldn't let me because it was the Sabbath. I was desperate so I took a plain bagel and smeared chocolate frosting from a can onto it. My bagel donut wasn't the same. Just as how we try to supsitute things for the gospel with worldy things like video games, TV, clothes....the bagel donut couldn't subsititue for the real donut. A real donut is comparable to the gospel in this example. The donut fills and satisfies just as the gospel of Jesus Christ fills and satisfies our spirit. Note that I was fasting when I talked about this and I LOVE DONUTS

We taught more lessons then ever this week and we had some down times, like when Ian who had a baptisimal date totally dropped us right to our face. But we have also seen so many miracles and all of them are because of obedience to mission rules. Obedience = blessings.

D&C 82:10 10 I, the Lord, am abound when ye do what I say; but when ye do not what I say, ye have no bpromise.

It snowed yesterday! But it is just so dry here and cold. I physically have hit the wall and am coming down with something now, which is frusterating.

Love you all!

PS we have a ping pong table in the basement we live in and now I am a ping pong champ! No worries I only play during meals or pday...or while we wait for a ride to come get us. I could own Forest Gump at ping pong!!
